I picked this thing up
at a flea market in a church somewhere last year sometime. In the front
picture, you can see an opening which contains plastic sticks with a
"dry" cloth and "wet" cloth and then in the
middle is a container of liquid cleaning solution. These items are used to clean
cartridges while the red cleaner itself is used to clean the console. You
tip the NES upside down (taking the AC adaptor out to stand) then putting
the cleaner in your NES case-side front and there's some sort of plastic
on the bottom that takes an imprint of the NES' contacts (dirt perhaps?).
The back of the cleaner tells you exactly how it works.
